Divide and Conquer

For many of us, counting calories is a chore and time consuming. I want to bring you the good news that there is an alternative. Even for those counting calories, it is time to divide and conquer ~ the plate that is!

When we fill our plates, we should look at it in sections. A full half of our plates should be used for fruits and veggies. One quarter for meat or some other form of a high protein food. The other quarter for a startch.

A good meal could be stir fry with a serving of brown rice, one serving of chicken and two servings of vegetables. Another meal idea would be vegetable beef stew with a serving of crackers or bread on the side. A half sandwich with turkey, lettuce and tomato with cantaloupe for dessert is also great.

This is all about balance and how a balanced diet keeps us healthy. Are you ready to divide and conquer? Try eating this way for one week and see how much better you feel.
